Why can't the world be like it was
Carefree
Optomistic
Place of laughter and play
no pain
no abandonment
no sorrow
Why can't I turn back to my 5 year old self
Where everyone played together
despite gender
color
shape
style
Why can't I just find myself in the present
Emerge from that pit of despair
Stand up
Face reality
And find my oasis of happiness
That sandbox of my life
