The Waiting Pond

The frozen pond is
tickled
with creases of
children's ice skates
she waits
for the wind to come
and blow
the thin layer
of tiny snowflakes
away
she grows tired
and groans
in the midst of
the midnight moon
but still
stands patiently
waiting
for the morning
to
come
