Running from Tidal Waves
Dark winds broiling on edges of the mind
Tidal waves engulf every happy thought
In bleakness there is nothing good to find
For dead-set focus remains on darkness
Strength used to strain for light is much
Losing means none but left for dead
When calming hands of friendship touch
Eyes clear to see what lies ahead
Thus begins the ending of the fight
For then it is safe to say
Pulling through to reach specks of torn-up light
Opens the mind to a brighter day
