Do Nothing but Listen
Now I will do nothing but listen:
To the rain strike my window as I lie in bed at mid-day
As the chatter and cackling of my family flourishes my ears.
Listen as relaxation and satisfaction floods my veins.
As the fingers type rapid on the keyboard, as cars race by:
Listen as the piano sings the sweet melodies grandmother would play.
As you sit in class and listen to all the conversations
Mesh into one, like the choir positioned in front of a composer.
