A dandelion-
plain and simple,
as ordinary as a nail in a board.

Layer by layer,
peel away the outer petals
to reveal the sweet, pure center.

The brilliance of the sunshine
in petals so dainty-
so small.

Yet under its façade
of passive beauty,
lives an orb of unbeatable fire.
