Rocks and Band-aids
he always looked like a Rock,
with a couple of bruises,
and scratches that were
covered with band-aids.
but i never knew those
band-aids are what
kept him together
kept him strong
kept him my Rock
and without them he would crumble.
one day the band-aids became
too used too worn and too old
he died that day
he crumbled.
i think back to that day
and wonder why there
wasn’t a change in the universe
why the world didn’t stop or
at least why i didn’t feel him leave me.
there are weeks maybe
even months that
i don’t remember him and then i do andrealize that he is
lost…forever
