She left her body
And reached for the Son
She held on tight
Until she was the last one
Though it burned her hands
And left them numb
She acknowledged her scars
As a sign of love
Past all the planets
That had defied her
She held her hands high
And kept a bible beside her

The author's comments:
It's a view of Christianity throughout the solar system, where I changed "Sun" to "Son".
And with the knowledge of our planets, most are named after gods, like Venus, Neptune, and Uranus. The part where is says "Past all the planets/ That had defied her"
Means all the different gods she had rejected to reach her god, Jesus Christ.

This is a good poem. I personally am Pagan, so I don't really.. like the bible part. But I totally understand what you're saying, and it's really good!!! And it's a great description and imagery :)
