Was the summer of '10
When my eyes
First rested upon
Your feet
...I remember
They were tiny

You walked in
With your
Gaga shirt
And runny eyeliner
And I remember thinking
How beautiful you must be
Inside that soul

And when we first
Spoke words to
Each other...
It felt,
So... right

But you're gone,
Cut away.

Like the core
Of an apple
Or the fat
On a steak

You were cut away
In a painless blink

'My Recollections'is about someone who has been very close to me in my heart for a couple of years, and even though we're far apart, we are still close. I hope that readers can take the message that it's okay to fall in love, and it's okay to be in love, even after the break-up.
