you don't understand
my struggle everyday
the invisible illness I wish would go away

A-N-X-I-E-T-Y
the feelings inside
make me want to cry

I cannot eat my lunch
no be in a crowd
I cannot talk in class
or even cheer out loud

this illness runs my life
and limits my way
strangles me quietly
every single day

why does this happen?
I shall never understand
this isn't right
this is not what I planned

can I not be normal?
just a regular teen?
instead I must cry silently
hoping not to be seen

depression is horrible
but it is still there
just as real as you
but strong as a bear

if I promise to change
will you make this stop?
I cannot deal with this
this is over the top

please take it away
keep me alive
save me from death
help me to strive

I will be stronger than ever
and the best I can be
this will help me grow
