The Lessons of Birds
Birds flying in the breeze,
 reaching the clouds with eaze.
I sit and dream of the bird's life,
thinking of the husband, child, and wife.

I watched a mother teach her little chicks to fly,
and saw them fall then soar through the sky.
I think of the way a mother tries to teach her kids to walk,
at first we fall but then we walk.

I watch the birds with envious eyes,
jealous of their freedoms, songs, flights, and flockly ties.
I cry for the chance tbe as free as a bird,
to come and go as I please.

I compare my life to the birds,
only to see that my heart is a bir in a cage.
I sit sadly on the ground with my thoughts,
crying fo a chance to get my emotions out of their rage.
