Heart Song
My heart skips a beat
The cars are impatient
One by one they leave
To their separate destinations,
Their home away from home
Never knowing when they will return
A mystery undefined
Until a celebration awaits.
All together again at last
Like the blink of an eye
They are gone once more
Their lives to continue
Weekends go by quickly
Like a hummingbirds wings
Or a hurricane’s powerful winds
Tears stream down my face
Like a lake beneath my feet
My siblings are gone from my sight
But close to my heart
