Today is my birthday
I am 12
Today is also my wedding day
He is almost 30
Tonight is my wedding night
I will be a woman
Today starts a new life for me
Without mommy or daddy
Soon I’ll have a baby
Not another doll but a true offspring
I will hope for a boy
For I fear for a girl
One day she will be 12
And be a child bride like me
