Talking To Trees
I admit I won’t pay attention
I’m too busy to be bothered by you.
 I’m listening to weeds complain
watching sunflowers bask in rays of light
seeing aspens gloat over their beauty
and lying in the grass of wild meadows.

It’s the daisies and their smiling faces,
the cottonwood trees and their soft leaves
the wind and its whispering voice,
the roses and their sweet scent
the pebbles in the ground and their smooth sides.

I like talking with the trees
and dancing with the wind. I
love the squabbles of the lilacs
and the shapes the clouds make.

Come and let me show you the world.
