Two Country Songs
I would listen to the radio

 hour by hour,

for the joy of listening to

 my favorite song.

 Then, it was about

 dying so very young.

 It was relevant;

 all I wanted.

 Now, it is neither.

 And still very beautiful.

 Months later, I am

 still listening.

To hear a song to remind

me of why I will not

 be letting go.

 It's real, and still there,

 what everyone claims

 to be "a silly phase"

 (but I've informed 'it'

 to please f***

 off).
