She stands there
And watches the butterfly
Flitter above her head
Over the fence
Into the garden
Where she is
Forbidden to go

She watches it
As it lands
On a purple flower
Sits for a moment
Before continuing
On its journey
Through paradise

She turns around
To the call
Of her friend nearby
And runs away
Stopping once
To take one last glance
Back towards her heaven
