I promise you that I will sin
This is my religion
I’m sorry it’s not the same as yours
I don’t believe in your God
 But you say I should
You tell me I am a bad person
And that I’m only struggling to find my way
But the way I live life is good, the things I do and say
 I give
 I share
 I listen and don’t judge
And most of all I will always give you respect for the things you love
I get it, I understand that you believe
 That you have faith
I know that is who you are
But I can’t say the same for you
You won’t ever accept me for me
I’m not a believer, but I am a human just like you
I won’t pray, but I promise you that I will sin
I don’t go to church, but I have succeeded without His guiding hand
But if you’re right and there is a God
 And there is a heaven
He will understand my doubt and I will be forgiven
 So tell me I’m wrong
Keep trying to remind me that I am one of God’s children
 Go and preach His word
It’s what the bible says to do
But let me believe in what I believe
Because believe me I will let you
And don’t tell me I’m wrong with my mindset or morals, or that I am only struggling to find my way
If you do though, I will lose no respect. I will only tell you this:
“Stay strong in your faith, it is who you’ve become
you are beautiful, smart, determined, and young
 we all have our doubts
there is a reason we look both ways before we cross the street
but just wait and you will see because there will never be a right or wrong in the things
   we believe”
