Serpent and Dove
I hearken back to olden days
A deeper soul of classical thought and music
My spleen ebbs within my heart
But it is a darker place, lower than my heart
It burns when music plays and when poetry meets my ear
When tears are shed, the darkness aches and begs
 For a release

I live in now and the moment
 Everything is fun and thrilling
Sensations run the gauntlet over my skin
Lightness fills me and eases my breathing
My senses full and empty of worry
 Nothing touches me deeper
But everything leaves an impression on my newborn skin

 In constant aggravating flow
Everything is unification and harmonious equality
Of a darkness that fears itself and shrinks from light
And a goodness that alone could mold the world
The darkness brings aches to every part of me
The light sings out jubilation painful in its ecstasy
Each step is an inward battle
The serpent and the dove bred into one
