When I am an old coot of a woman
I will be wrapped in a warm sweatshirt
decorated by the handprints of my grandbabies
and I should wear shapeless, pink sweatpants;
my feet will be comfortably fitted in white house shoes,
hair all neatly tucked away in my granny bun,
with a floral sunhat for summer mid-morning strolls;
and a pair of pink square framed spectacles,
to accent my lovely silver stocked hair;
because when I am an old coot of a woman,
I will have absolutely no cares;
So what, if I show up to bingo night an hour late?
And who will care if I flaunt my jammies at the supermarket?
heck, I’ll purposefully ride my brakes when I drive place to place;
the youngsters will have to learn to love the view from behind
because this Grammy travels at her own pace…
and the Gramps in the passenger seat—
he’ll sit there pleasantly ‘cause he knows
not to fuss with the old coot of a woman in pink.

Have you ever wondered what you will be like one day? What the world will see you as? How you will have lived your life? Whether or not you will have a spouse, children, and maybe even grandkids? Take the time to put your aspirations down on paper, and one day you can look back and say, "ha! I really am that coot of a woman wearing pink sweatpants... SCOREEEEE!"
