Do what you love, love what you do

I asked for tranquility
and God gave me an argument to settle.
I asked for love
and God gave me broken hearts to sew together,
opening my arms to those who needed me right then and there.
I asked for friends
and God gave me strangers to talk to.
I asked for courage
and God placed a dark path in my walkway
I asked for memories
and God gave me a camera to capture the good and bad.
I asked for music
and God placed a string and box in each of my hands.
I asked for money to fill my pockets
and God gave me an application for a job.
I asked for food
and God put me in a kitchen with a flame flickering on a stove.
I asked for warmth
and God gave me a sheep along with a pair of shears.
I asked for an education
and God placed me in front of a desk with books to read throughout my growing years.
I asked for happiness
and God showed me horror, bringing out the blessings I had, but until then they were the background in my life, the wall paper to hide the nakedness of my walls.
I asked for wisdom
and God mottled me with mistakes, after I got in a car when I knew
there were no breaks.
I asked for patience
and God told me to wait, for it will come when the time is right.
I asked for passion
and God gave me talents without telling me, something I must uncover for myself.
I asked for a future, one that will be to my liking
and God turned off my hearing.
Softening the sounds of the outside world, sounds that bleed of hate.
He strongly took hold of the volume that scatters in my body, enriching my mind with his touch,
a touch more priceless than gold,
so that I only listen to the music of the light, a kindling fire feeding on my faith, helping me mold
my road by only listening to my beliefs along with every dream
that I have the power to create.

Thank You God for listing and having the strength to answer me
a lost soul wondering without direction on earth discovering the map
to life.
