The Outsider
How was I so stupid to let you
Slip right on by?
The entire year, I was completely clueless.
So out of touch with pure reality
That I didn't even notice-
I had you wrapped around my finger.
With this crazy act I put on,
I never stopped to think that what you felt
Was real.
Every passing smile,
All of those flirty remarks;
Led to sparks flying through the air.
And each day, I stood in front of the mirror-
Getting primped for another day of school,
Putting on that shiny smile;
Never knowing that someone
-an outsider-
Was looking in.
Someone who marked my every move;
Someone who listened to my ever word.
Someone who looked straight into my eyes
And knew there was something beyond
That flirty smile and bouncy curls.
A connection so perfect
That it could've only been created by fate, itself.
It's crazy to think;
That guy standing in front of me-
The one with the sweet smile but bold eyes-
Actually loved THIS crazy girl,
And would end up meaning the world to me.
