Waiting For You

I sat outside, staring,
and waited for you.
Fading memories,
Bloomed again.
As a tiny crack of sunlight,
slowly brightened,
I thought you were there
so I grasped the air,
but nothing I got...

Just nothing.

I squeezed my eyes
against a lonely ray,
waiting for you.
My mind saw gray,
Thoughts of hope
slowly drowned,
while soft clouds floated by.
The sky darkened,
with no twinkling stars.
I thought you were there,
so I grabbed the air,
but nothing I got...

Just nothing.

The day after my really good friend moved to China from the United States, I wrote this poem for her because I missed and still miss her so much.
