My past haunts me
Salty tears stream down my face
Making my heart feel heavy
Not a single sign of happiness no trace
I feel like I’m going to break then fall into a levy
Make it stop; all the screaming in my head
I feel like I’m in the ocean and cannot breathe
I feel regret as heavy as lead
As of the waves around me, begin to seethe
I am not psychotic, I’m tortured and scared
When reading this, understand I’m torn with regret
I tried to reach out, but it was as if no-one cared
So if I stopped trying, now trying to forget
I wipe my face, it feels hot and irritated
Knowing and telling myself, “YOU ARE HATED”
