Emerge
I came into this world with tan skin and dark brown eyes
My tongue golden for a taste of spice
My mind ready for the world ahead
My hands and eyes able to understand and manipulate
But there are others with a tongue of platinum
And hands that can create a masterpiece
They were ready at first sight of this new world
But I will try harder than the others every time
They have skill , I have heart
A heart of determination
A heart you cant compare to any material or jewel
My hands do not sway as smooth as theirs on the canvas
My tongue can not comprehend such complex flavors
And my eyes are not bright like hazel or blue
But I am proud of my golden tongue
My tan skin
And dark eyes
I will emerge soon from the cocoon of evolution as one with my first masterpiece long to come.
