Surrounded

She is the only one in the room, but she is not alone.
The memories box her in, as if they are there for protection.
She is the youngest but with her old age it is difficult to tell. The last one left.
These memories are what keep her moving forward,
Her reason for fighting against the battle that her siblings gave in to against Death.
She places the memories on the walls so that she's surrounded.
She's afraid to be alone
And she's terrified for Death to come looking for her again.

I wrote this piece during my creative writing block at school. I based it off of a picture that we were shown of an elderly women sitting on the sofa with pictures on the walls around her. Personally, I like the piece better by itself than with the picture along side of it.
