her disguise
there’s a certain way about
when the light glints off your eyes
your lips rounded in a pout
and I know it’s your disguise
then his hands are on your waist
and you’re teasing is finally done
and his lips are all you taste
 and this battle-you have won
as he pulls you tight to him
you forget all of the pain
 the memories are so dim
oh it makes you act so vain
now his hands are up your back
his lips can’t leave your mouth
 time is gone-you’re losing track
 everything is going south
life is swimming past your eyes
 this is your only release
filled with tears and helpless cries
there’s no other place with peace
hurt is flooding through your heart
he doesn’t see it in your eyes
 everything’s falling apart
he doesn’t know he’s your disguise
