The Girl I Found This Morning
I found her that morning
 Lying in her bed
 Her hand lying limp
 Hanging over the edge
 Her face was pale
 She looked so calm
 With her eyes closed
 Lips still red
And face still with a light tint of pink in those swallow cheeks
But this time there was something different
 There was something wrong
No longer did her fingers twitch
No longer did her mind wander in her dream
No longer did her chest move up and down
 No longer did she breathe
 Her body was cold
The life sucked out of it
 I stared at her
 She died in sleep
 Peacefully while dreaming
She had no time to say goodbye
To a world she loved so dearly

 I found myself that morning
 Lying in my bed
 My hand lying limp
 Hanging over the edge
 My face was pale
 I looked so calm
 With my eyes still closed
 Lips still red
And face still with a light tint of pink in those swallow cheeks
But this time there was something different
 There was something wrong
No longer did my fingers twitch
No longer did my mind wander in my dream
No longer did my chest move up and down
 No longer did I breathe
Yes that girl I found dead this morning
 That girl was me
