Thirst

My soul strives for happiness to
cascade down its throat. My heart
aches to be drowned in an
overabundance of bliss. Drop by
drop, love quietly trickles down
my tongue. It splashes and swims
through my veins that branch off like
a bolt of incandescent lightning which
expands over the tenebrous surface
of night. In the blur of the opaque,
solemn sky, I crave for the luminous
pearl-white moonlight to penetrate
through my body and evaporate, leaving
behind its silvery aesthetic glow in my
once false smile. I’ll allow for the sweet
empathic rain to cleanse me of the
agony that burdens every chance of
joy. And may the sun soak up the
remnant of turmoil that dwells
within my tumultuous mind which
spews nonsensical material into
my previously orderly thoughts.
I yearn for the ultimate moment
where melodious symphonies
dance around me, yielding their graceful
steps for me to trace so that I may
be at ease with the pure euphoria showering
over me and swelling my lungs
just enough to grant the sensation
that I have forever aspired to
endure, so that I may never again
thirst.
