Life Is: The Flowers of Spring

Life is the flowers of spring
When before the sky had been grey
And the air cold
The wind harsh
The ground wet and muddy
But then you wake up in the morning
And you can't see the brown
Because your yard is covered over
With buttercups and clover
The beautiful yellow
Of the tiny flower
How much difference that makes
It's a sign of hope
And of more beauty to come
Flowers of spring
The daffodil
At first only green shoots
But then you spot a bud
And a few days later it blossoms
You run out with scissors
(Oh dear)
And cut the first yellow face for your mom
You run inside
"Look Mom, spring!"
So much joy inside one flower
Tulips
Red and white and pink
Crocuses
Purple and white
Small and dainty
Life is the flowers of spring
The hope of warmth contained in their petals
