Everyone is entitled to be stupid. But some people abuse the privlidge!

My nerves are frayed, my patience strained
Adrenaline is pumping through my veins
I’m standing on the edge of a cliff
Looking down and feeling sick
I edge my way forward
Cautiously at first
Stones begin to tumble down
As my toes clear, I’m now ready
There’s the possibility that I may be wrong
That I may fall
But this is my once in a life time chance,
To prove my parents wrong
When I told them I could fly,
They’d just roll their eyes
Now I’m on the edge
-One last breath
I gather my courage
-Swallow my fear
And I launch myself off the ledge
Into the unknown

For a moment, I’m confused
Struggling to breathe, as the wind whips my hair
And steals my air
Then with a prayer I feel myself jerk to a halt
Suddenly, I’m flying
With a sense of satisfaction,
I feel the feathery wings on my back
And I soar towards the sky
A wide smile takes over my face
And I fly, relieved that I’m right
Flying, I knew the whole time, deep inside
Flying, proving them wrong
Leaving that restraining ledge far behind
