My Father Loves Me Just the Same

My Father loves me just the same
My Father loves me just the same
I cause him to weep
To feel my shame
Yet he begs the burden
Of my pain
I drive those nails home everyday
And my Father loves me just the same

I'm a broken rose
My beauty's faded
I'm about to die
And when I go
I'll fall to pieces
Living the same lie
Wearing rags
Of sin and shame
Giving up to cry
Lying in a heap
On the ashes
Of my life

All the time I've turned away
I don't expect to be welcomed back
All those times He called my name
I closed my ears and instead laughed
Now alone
I sit here
In the shadows
Waiting to know
If I have the same chances
Will I be welcomed back home?

My Father loves me just the same
My Father loves me just the same
I cause him to weep
To feel my shame
Yet he begs the burden
Of my pain
I drive those nails home everyday
And my Father loves me just the same

I'm a newly blooming
Beauty fresh
Living in the sky
Found the way
To live again
Ignoring all the lies
All the past wrongs
I've done are
Stamped into my life
But I will conquer
In His name
In Jesus I will die

Everything I said before in anger and in lust
All my greed and jealousy believing in the lies
Jesus wiped the slate clean and I've risen from the dust
I have a new home now safe in my Father's eyes
Now with God
In my heart
I will live
To praise his name
I will sing the glory song
Jesus come fulfill your kingdom!

My Father loves me just the same
My Father loves me just the same
I cause him to weep
To feel my shame
Yet he begs the burden
Of my pain
I drive those nails home everyday
And my Father loves me just the same
He loves me just the same
