Cacoon
Alone at night
 My demons visit
 Reminding me
 That once
 I almost drowned
 That once
 I didn't believe
 In a future
 In life
 In God

 Forever it seems
 They'll haunt me
 Torment me
 So that I'll never
 Believe in happiness
 Believe that love
 Is freely given
 And received

 Lately though
 I've been changing
 And the stronger
 I grow
 The weaker my demons
 Become
 Time heals all wounds
 I pray
 Huddled
 Shivering
 Encased in layers
 Of blankets
 My cacoon

 It's almost time
 For the butterfly
 To spread her wings
