World of the Night MAG
The placid silver coin
Floats softly in its black waters;
Gleaming stars as numerous as
Fine grains of sand
Dust the smooth sky.
The milky moonlight shines bright
Bathing the world in pale white light,
The still velvet air so clear
Carries the symphony of the night,
Crickets, ribbets and croaks.
All around the wide stretch
Of thick summer grass
Stands a great pine forest
Full of shadows and stories,
Each one unique.
The elusive red fox
How she slips through the brush,
Searching for small rodents
To bring back to her den
For the mouths of her small pups.
The insignificant firefly
How it bobs and weaves,
Taking on the grand role
Of an earthbound star
Shedding light in the dark.
The sweet smell of the tall pines
Hangs coyly in the air,
As the colony of stars
Is held in their arms so tender,
Winking their silver eyes.
