Mystic Winter

February 7, 2011
By Anonymous

Secrets on a shadowy wind
Whispers unheard sounds in the night
Ghostly echoes of footsteps past
Beckoning closer a hesitant light

Filled with rush of untold danger
Anxiety in heart and mind
Worry brushed aside in anger
Reckless feet on paths unwind

Green is gone to white and silver
Bare the branches of the trees
Frosted icicles that hang
In wait of a more forceful breeze

Silence under midnight skies
Voices soft begin to speak
Songs of winter to the stars
To the snowy mountain peak

Gentle in hand it leaps forth
To the ground and air to fly
In chills of broken ice and water
Upward onward to the sky

Hands are cold but feet unmoving
Watching magic in the night
Finally reaching taking holding
Retreating with his lantern light

Outstanding joB! This is an amazing poem. You've got some great end rythms and your choice of words is amazing, along with some of your phrases (exp. in wait for a more forceful breeze, reckless feet on paths unwind,) ....pretty much every line is a poem inside itself;) Very pretty imagery.

If you could comment and rate mine that'd be great! Thanks!
