"No one can make me feel inferior without my permission." ~Eleanor Roosevelt

Crisp, bright leaves
All over the path
I step on them
Hearing them crunch
Under my feet

I keep up my pace
My breath coming out in short puffs
My mind slipping away
Completely focused
On this, right now

I pass other joggers
Deep into their own journeys
We share a quick nod
Then move on

Finally, I veer into my neighborhood
And I look up to the clear sky
And smile
As I turn into my driveway
Three miles done
A run in the fall.
