The holes in my heart,
Are filled every day.
I try to smile.
But the feelings fade.
Depression returns,
Why can’t I be happy?

He bought me a gift,
A heart shaped necklace.
It was beautiful.
But the feelings fade.
Depression returns,
Why can’t I be happy?

I look around.
I have everything I need.
I have a family that loves me,
Friends all around,
Even a guy who makes my world go round.
But I don’t feel anything.
Why can’t I be happy?

Lately, I have been holding in all emotion. I'm ready to be happy, but I don't feel anything. This poem is how I feel.
