Triumph
She scales up the sloping ladder
 Ice threatening her hold
The wind, it whips and bites her,
 Demanding her defeat

One more reach, a lunge, a pull
 And she drags herself
 Determined
 Onto the eroded ridge

 Far above the tree line
 The silence is oppressive
 In this complete stillness
 Screams will make no sound

One more glance at the sweeping sky
 And she launched
 Throwing herself
Plunging deep into the sea of snow
