Two Sets of Eyes

Mama, why are my eyes so black
and colorless
when her eyes are so magical
sparkling like the deep blue sea?
Your eyes may not smile everyday
but your eyes tell many stories
they catch darkness
they understand pain, sorrow
If you open your eyes beneath the tears of the Earth
the darkness will absorb the raindrops
and the drops will put out the blazing fire
That burns within
Baby, your eyes are dark
because they hold memories
and that girl with blue eyes
that sparkle like the deep blue sea
just hasn't seen the world yet
