Insomnia Derails a Train on a Quiet Night
It's funny how
 I never really noticed
how lonely a train's whistle can sound
as it blows so long and lonely
so far off in the distance.
It's the saddest sound in the world
 And as I lay here
as I do on many nights,
 insomniac that I am,
 I can't help but feel
 drawn to that sound
 to that loneliness & heartache
 to that long whistle blow
 that gives me chills.
