Daddy
The times I remember
 How they make me smile
 Running through the house
 With nothing but time
 Young and full of energy
 And you to help tame

 How things can change
 In just such short time
 Running through the house
 With you by my side
 Now you’re gone
 Things have gone wrong

 No more mom and dad
 Just one or the other
My time with you has now been split
For it has to be even
 Some time for you,
 Other time for her

 You are my dad
 And I love you so
For the good times we spent
 Have gone by slow
 Good memories from the past
 From when I was little
 You warned me years ago
 I just didn’t listen

 I’m grown up now
 And times have changed
 More time for her
 And less for you
You were right about when I grow up
I’ll be around less and less

So time for things to change once again
More time for you and less for her
For you are my dad and I love you so
I’ll see you soon so just wait
 More memories to come
 More memories to stay
 The best ones to come
For I am on my way
