Solace
I remember the day you came to me
“I need to tell you a secret, but you can’t tell anyone.”
You knew me well, I’d never tell, and so you revealed everything

I want you to know it’s okay to be different
 Wanna hear a secret?
 I’m different too.

I told you then, my thoughts, my fears
 A word, an identity, confusion
And you said something to me then, I’d never soon forget

“I want you to know it’s okay to be different
 Wanna hear a secret?
 I’m different too.

We laughed, we talked, we reflected
 Giddy in our revelation
Both of us were different – together.
