"What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us." -Walt Emerson

If every tear I cried
Were a bullet in your heart,
You wouldn't be alive,
No, you woudln't play a part.
Every sentence,
Every word,
That you spoke to me,
Was like shooting bullets
At my feet.
This world of pain
You've created for me,
You're insane
If you want this for me.
You're crazy
If you think
That I want this anymore.
I'm gonna say good-bye,
I'm gonna walk out the door.
So goodbye
To you
And your World of Pain.

The author's comments:
I was inspired to write this after I found that a friend of mine wasn't a real friend at all. It's hard to lose a friend, and I hope if you're going through the same experience, that you take something away from this poem- that you can always just walk away.
