Last Car in The Parking Lot
My eyes are bleary from the night
Haloes frame the streetlights
I scan
Looking for you but I can’t seem
To find you
What am I looking for?
Will you look familiar
Or will you be new
How can I tell?
Just by looking
More than friends
Some silver
And some are gold
Eye may be gold but
Can’t be trusted
Because of the time
The distance
And the difference
Between you and me
Is that I’m the last car in the parking lot
And you’re the one who’s free.
