She sang in French
A song I
Couldn’t understand
But my
To hear it
I felt as if my bones
Had been buried in French waters
And my soul screamed for Marie
No,
I don’t know the name
But isn’t that part of the
Magic?
Like a lullaby you can never
Quite remember
But it always puts you to sleep
My oh my
Ears rung
Like a grandfather clock
Striking midnight
Haunting and beautiful
A secret
Only for the dark
She sang
And fireflies burned their candles
What was it about that French
That struck me so deep
A song
I’ll never hear again
My ears reminisce now
And sigh
