You told me that when I was a baby,
I used to sleep on your chest,
and listen to your heartbeat.
I was lucky I didn't get crushed.
I remember I used to side with you,
when you and mom fought.
You held my bike,
when I thought I might crash into a tree.
You kissed my cuts
when I cried like a baby.
I used to snuggle up to you,
because I was scared of the dark,
because I was scared of everything.

I grew up.
You tell me not to go after boys,
and I should stay focused.
I slam my door in your face,
and tell you I am not a baby.
Later you come by again,
and you start telling me stories,
funny ones, real ones, and sad ones.

One night you look at me sadly,
and you tell me whenever he sees me,
he sees his little girl.

I miss you so much Dad.
I want you to know though,
I am not a small girl anymore.
That I'm in college,
and that I'm grown up

But I also want you to know I love you,
and I miss you.
And no matter what happens,
I will always be your little girl.
