We feel empty without it
Full when we have it
Crushed when it’s gone
Leaving one confused
A necessity and a desire
It is the cause and the cure
Of pain
It can build and destroy
Heal and hurt
An emotion stronger
Than any other
Addictive
Like a drug
Inevitable
Deep or shallow
Temporary or unconditional
Can lead to great
And terrible things
Indescribable
Can mend and break at once
No one will ever
Understand its depths
Or grasp the concept
All or nothing
Acceptance
Forgiveness
Love.
