Craving A Song
Craving a song
 For the beat
 For the melody
 For the lyrics
 For the memory.
 A place I can't return to
But, I listen to a song,
 And I'm there.
I'm the girl I used to be.
I'm the girl looking for an adventure.
I'm the girl with innocent eyes.
I'm the girl with a joyous heart.
But, when the final chord is struck,
 I'm transported back to reality.
It's the final "gong" of midnight
And my carriage is a pumpkin,
 My dress is tattered,
And my Prince Charming no longer cares.
