Weak Walls
I can hear you yelling thru the walls
I can see you gaping at the bills
You’re yelling, screaming
Bringing me in
Words turn into nails and fists
Tears develop from all of this
And no matter how much I try to push it out
The walls are too weak to withstand the shout
I freeze when you walk
Because it might be to my door
I’m not afraid of you but I’m trying to pretend
No one’s here anymore
She’s crying on the phone
And she’s in front of me
Can’t she see I see?
And hear?
I’d rather have her roar and scream
Than have her to let me share the fear
