Empty
Jumping around,
 Swimming in fun.
 Completley unaware,
 Of what was to come.

 Received the news,
 That ruined my day.
 The choice to stay,
Though I had dos to pay.
 Leave my friends,
 My comfort,
 My fun.
 To fly five hours,
 To dress in black,
 And cry.

 I chose to stay,
Through the guilt that ate me away.
When I returned from the fun,
 From the comfort and friends,
 The feelings came back,
 With a whole new force.

The last things you said to me, Grandpa,
“I love you very much and you will always be in my heart.”
 At the time,
It brought a smile to my face,
But now all the memory brings is sadness,
 And tears.

 Now I sit,
 Empty,
 Missing,
 And lost.
 Oh, so empty.

Here’s to the best grandfather ever.
 Rest in peace, Grandaddy.
