The ones we envy
And despise
Cheerleading captain
Or the varsity jock
The girl next door
The new kid on the block
Homework and tests
Mid-terms and finals
Homecoming dresses
Ever changing styles
Drama and gossip
Meaning nothing in the morning
Just everyday high school
Seeming useless and boring
Until one day you wake up
And nothing has changed
Except you find yourself in the real world
Dealing with the same old things
