i cant' tell you this
you tell me that and the other
i'd lie through my teeth
to make it better, because i care
for those with wings of lead.

if it's a poem you want
it's angst you get
realize the meaning
of this and that and the other.

I know i'm brick
oil and water don't mix
connect to a close circuit
and get brunt for your efforts

i can't tell you this
because there's nothing to tell
get so low you can't stand up
come up for air
and you’re down again
just your luck.

if it's confessions you want
don't expect a service too
i'm not a preist,
i don't bless
i raise hell and burn bridges too.

theres thin lines
we walk like rails

forget me or forgive me,
razor blades or written words
either way, you're gonna bleed on the page

if it's word you want,
i'm just another poet
with a broken heart
and a sprained mind and
not enough time in the world
to write my life away.

i care for you and
can try to tell you
confessions come from the heart
and i dont' know if i could do that
since it's up for debate as to whether or not
i have one.

so i lie through my teeth
because it makes everything better
and i write my heart out
just to keep myself alive.
